An Unforgettable Stay
Tradition meets modernity at Villa Casenuove. The estate’s owners have curated every detail of the stylish country-chic interiors, conserving original details and working with local craftspeople to create a welcoming ambience in which natural materials such as warm wood and terracotta take centre stage. Respect for tradition goes hand in hand with technological readiness in this welcoming property with its full Wi-Fi coverage.
Guests of the Villa enjoy unlimited access to the estate’s magnificent gardens, as well as a heated open-air swimming pool and a sauna housed in an old hay barn. Among the experiences on offer is a guided tour of the estate and winery which culminates in a tasting of Tenuta Casenuove’s prestigious range of wines and extra-virgin olive oil.

history
A storied Chianti wine estate, Tenuta Casenuove spreads across 120 rolling hectares of pristine Tuscan countryside, not far from the town of Panzano in Chianti.
Ravished by the property and its enormous enological potential, Philippe Austruy bought Casenuove in 2015 and immediately launched a major project designed to restore its historic buildings and ancient dry-stone wall terraces. His ultimate aim was to produce the truly great wines he knew the estate could nurture.
As in the preparation of the vineyards, so in the restoration of the Villa. A conservative approach was followed that aimed not to overturn, but to give new lustre to traditional architectural features that had been dulled or lost over the years. Original doors and windows were carefully put aside and reused, and while it was necessary to replace the old ceiling beams, they were kept and reworked by carpenters to form the oak flooring of several bedrooms, suites and bathrooms.
A splendid entrance avenue of olive trees, a fragrant lemon grove and banks of shrubs and flowers seem placed to create a visual link between the estate and the surrounding countryside. Glimpses of the vines, or of the Tuscan hills, are artfully framed as in a Renaissance fresco.
Tenuta Casenuove is thus both a working wine estate and a work of art, one that lends itself to a variety of readings, one whose promising present is built upon a proud and glorious history, one whose future is being written day by day, in a series of small, sensitive, human acts and gestures.
