Grape Varieties

90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

In the Vineyard

The warm, well-drained soils face south and south-west. They are a
mix of limestone clays of marine origin, rich in galestro schist, with
Macigno del Chianti sandstone. Hand harvesting takes place between
the third week of September and the first ten days of October,
depending on the individual plot and the climactic conditions.
The grapes undergo a tripartite manual selection process: first in the
vineyard and twice more in the cellar before they are lowered gently
into the vats.

In the Cellar

Controlled-temperature vinification in raw concrete tanks guarantees
stability in the wine’s first stage. Maceration lasts for up to a month,
with pumping over and racking to extract and purify. The wine then
ages for 12 months in a mix of large Slavonian oak casks and raw
concrete tanks. Once in the bottle, the wine is left to mature for 6
months.

Tasting Notes

A balanced wine with an inviting, fresh acidity, our Chianti Classico is
characterized by black fruit notes, ripe tannins and a touch of
savouriness. The finish is dry and savoury with a pleasant persistence.
